NYPCMA EDUCATION DAY: PLANNING EVENTS FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE

The business events industry is about building human connections through meetings, conventions, and events. Whether face-to-face, hybrid or virtual, we, “The People,” are at the core. This year’s NYPCMA Education Day is about creating events that address our needs, answer our questions, and, most importantly, engage our minds and behaviors. In other words, events “For the People, By the People.”

Session Description:

B2B. B2C. Lets start by lighting those on fire and getting down to what matters – we are really in the business of HUMAN-TO-HUMAN (H2H).

Whether we are designing and activating experiences for F2F or Digital one thing is consistent – we are designing for humans! While personas (behaviors, motivations and attitudes) may alter slightly across different engagement types, our individual values, personality profiles, and preferences don’t.

If you want to create experiences which drive deep loyalty, the kind of loyalty which leads to YOY growth or revenue increase, then understanding your guests as the whole person they are should be top of your list.

Yet, so many organizations continue to operate in a deficit when it comes to the data needed to truly understand their guests. Why? Simple, BELIEFS and BIASES!

In this session we will:

  • Collaboratively build a working definition of H2H.
  • Shine a spotlight on the gaps in available knowledge which organizations have about their guests.
  • Explore the impact of our beliefs and biases and how to overcome them.
