NYPCMA Summer Social:
Conversations, Connections, and Cocktails

Last week we gathered at the beautiful farm-to-table BlackBarn bar in Chelsea for the NYPCMA Summer Social. The event attracted a great mix of attendees, with some coming from as far away as Texas. New members mingled with long-standing members, including three past-presidents (hello Fun, Rocky, and Karin!).

Mixing, mingling, and meeting new people was encouraged through the photo contest offered by our event sponsor, Visit Salt Lake. Attendees competed by posting creative photos, humorous captions, and tagged friends, to win one of the summer tote bags full of fabulous prizes. Check out the hashtag #nypcma and the NYPCMA website for more pictures from the night.
Congratulations to the winners and all who participated!

We also had the opportunity to learn more about the uncomfortable truth that is human trafficking from ECPAT-USA, the leading anti-trafficking policy organization in the United States. As a member of ECPAT International, ECPAT-USA belongs to a network of organizations in more than 90 countries working together to end the commercial sexual exploitation of children and women. Attendees had the opportunity to donate and $105 was raised.

Below are the three ways we can continue to support  EPCAT.

  1. DONATE   any amount, however, all donations of at least $30 include access to ECPAT-USA’s anti-trafficking training for travel professionals.
  2. PROMOTE the campaign on social media.
  3. PARTICIPATE  in the campaign 20BY20, a year-long campaign with a goal of training 20,000 business events professionals by July 2020.

Thank you to all who attended. Special thanks to all our volunteers and sponsors who help make these events possible. Please consider using BlackBarn for your next event and Visit Salt Lake as an upcoming destination.
