Scott Patterson, CISSP, CCIES, NSA, CEO / Cofounder The Knox Corps, Inc.

 

Accomplished Information Security executive with over 18 years in organizational leadership roles and proven experience in strategizing and developing enterprise security programs for highly regulated organizations in healthcare, financial services, insurance, and the United States Air Force. Scott is currently Co-Founder and CEO of a very prominent information security firm, The Knox Corps and owns an interest in a global Digital Direct Mail facility called E1 Digital Direct.
The Knox Corps develops information security and compliance for firms in all regulated industries with a specialty in the Financial Services sector. Scott has been featured speaking at private and public corporate events, talks shows and NBC!
Scott was recently designated as the sector chief of the FBI’s Communications sector and serves as a Governor of the InfraGard program, national protection, and information sharing effort between the US government, corporate and other business entities.

Professor Recep “Richie” Karaburun, NYU School of Professional Studies,
Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality

Professor Richie Karaburun is currently serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor of hospitality marketing and tourism at the NYU School of Professional Studies Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality. He is currently pursuing a DPS (Doctor of Professional Studies) in business with a concentration in marketing at the Lubin School of Business at Pace University. He earned an MBA from the George Argyros School of Business and Economics, Chapman University, in Orange, California, in 2001 and a BBA in international relations from Uludag University, in Bursa, Turkey, in 1991.

With more than 25 years of experience in the travel industry, Karaburun is an industry expert who helps travel companies to develop and implement their business plans and strategies for growth. He has served on numerous industry panel presentations across a number of disciplines – sales leadership, hotel and other supplier negotiations, and travel operations.

​Professor Karaburun has taught classes at the NYUSPS Jonathan M. Tisch Center of Hospitality since 2014 and at Fairleigh Dickinson University since 2016. He has been awarded for the Teaching Excellence Award (2018), and Outstanding Service Award (2019), which recognize “the remarkable dedication of those faculty members who have demonstrated profound concern for student growth and development.” He served as managing director, North America, of Roomer, an online peer-to-peer marketplace for travel. Prior to joining Roomer, Karaburun was vice president of global supplier relations at RADIUS, president at GTA North America, and vice president of product development and contracting at AmericanTours International, achieving high-value revenue and profits, gaining large-scale cost savings, and improving organizational productivity and performance. Karaburun is a member of many prestigious organizations such as AMA (American Marketing Association), ISHC (International Society of Hospitality Consultants), HFTP (Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals). Marcos Stupenengo, Media Relations Manager, VISITFLANDERS

 

Marcos started his career as an intern at Disney corporate office. Not long after, he moved to ESPN where he was in charge of the first video integration at ESPN’s websites. A few years later, he was recruited by Google to be in charge of YouTube’s operations for the Hispanic markets, including the US, Latin America, and Spain.

Marcos passion for journalism was clear when he received an offer from CNN to move to Santiago and work for them as a news reporter in Chile’s capital city. Covered all types of breaking news and assignments around the world for several CNN networks and received multiple awards for those reports.

Curious by nature, Marcos decided to work for other networks, such as FOXITV and their affiliates around the world.    Back in the corporate world, he helped several companies with their communication efforts, relations with the media and also official government affairs.  He was in charge of several projects focused on optimizing resources, especially for organizations with multiple international offices, developing modern and effective structures that reduced costs and increased results.

Experienced planning and developing communications plans for crisis and contingency events, leading a first response national and international team of communication and editorial professionals. Responsible for the strategy and processes designed to ensure nimble, strategic, and effective responses to reputational issues. Developed and implemented training for new-hire frontline employees and trained management on media interaction best practices.

Stacey Courtney, 
Assistant Director of Convention and Events, Modern Language Association

A creative thinker, writer, and photographer with a passion for the arts; an experienced and detail-oriented meeting planner and exhibits manager; an artist with analytical, marketing, and budgeting skills; a skilled organizer who uses creativity and passion to develop unique and positive experiences while increasing company profits.

Stacey has worked at the Modern Language Association, in the following roles Convention Manager, Senior Convention Manager, Manager Exhibits, and Special Sessions, and most recently Assistant Director of Conventions and Events. She has served on the NYPCMA Board as Director of Member and Marketing Committee Chair, President-Elect and currently serves as the President.

Stacey is also a professional photographer who is constantly capturing the pulse of New York City!

Maria Dillon Kemp, Head of Marketing, Convene

Maria Dillon Kemp was promoted to Head of Marketing at Convene in late 2019. Dillon Kemp joined the company as Vice President, Field Marketing in May 2019 and has since integrated the sales, marketing, and revenue teams into a commercial team to create a commercial strategy, elevated the experiential marketing platform at Convene, and launched new initiatives that have driven sales results. In her new role, Dillon Kemp is charged with Convene’s marketing strategy and leading the company’s marketing discipline, which includes product and growth marketing, events, public relations, social media, content, design, and production, and she also consults on branding. Dillon Kemp reports directly to Ryan Simonetti, CEO, and co-founder of Convene. She joined Convene after a decade-long career in marketing leadership roles at Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, Paramount Pictures, Kantar Vermeer, and J. Walter Thompson.
