NYPCMA President’s Corner- Holidays 2017

by Jessica Levin, NYPCMA Chapter President

In a blink of an eye, the year passed. This year we set out to Educate, Serve and Inspire. We did just that and more and we have set the bar high for 2018. We experimented with different educational formats, added in smaller giveback opportunities and recruited so many wonderful volunteers who jumped right in and helped make the chapter what it is today. We listened a lot this year and have been trying to better understand the needs of the community and shape programs that meet the unique requirements of the New York market. This means evaluating how often we meet, where we hold events and what topics are discussed. We are taking a close look at the membership model and working with PCMA HQ on improving the members’ experience and understanding what is important to event professionals. Next year we are looking at tackling some more sensitive issues that impact humanity as a whole.

As meeting and events continue to evolve, we are committed to being at the forefront of education and innovation. I am excited about where we are heading as a chapter, as an organization and as an industry.

It’s been an honor to serve as your President this year. I look forward to being involved next year in supporting Fun Lee as she steps into the leadership role. Thank you to the 2017 Board who have elevated our chapter to the next level and to all of the volunteers and members who are part of New York PCMA.

Happy Holidays to you all!
